My name is Austin Armitage, and I am honored and incredibly grateful to have been chosen to receive the George Hannon Scholarship. I spent an active 4 years at Kingwood High School as a member of the Varsity Golf Team, where we won Districts every year. I was also a member of the Varsity Basketball Team, the National Honor Society, the American Sign Language (ASL) Honor Society, DECA, a 4-year elected Class Officer, the Young Men’s Service League, First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood, and Young Life. During this time, I clocked hundreds of service hours volunteering in the community and in my free time, I studied! In the fall, I will pursue a finance degree at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas. Hook Em’ Horns!​
