I have been playing golf with my family all of my life. In my free time, I am usually outdoors golfing and swimming or just lounging by the pool. I love to read and research medical procedures. I have taken the most rigorous coursework that I could in high school. I am an All State Diver, an All American Cheerleader and an All Star Cast winner for theater. I look forward to moving away for college, not to get away from my family but, because they have given me the confidence and security to seek new adventures. My family has given me a love of travel, appreciation of other cultures and a passionate desire for new experiences. It is now time to put them to use. I believe most people can live healthy productive lives if they are given the tools and the information to do so. I hope to pursue a profession that can help make that happen. I will attend Baylor University in the Fall, majoring in Medical Humanities. I am interested in a career in medicine or physical therapy.
I have a passion for pediatric prosthetics and orthotics. I am particularly interested in the global disparity of availability and maintenance of these devices in underdeveloped countries. Being involved with something that will empower another individual to live a more fulfilled life and reach their human potential is incredibly exciting. I have always felt that opportunities and experiences are never complete until we can take that knowledge and make our community and the world a better place. As part of my academic growth, I would also love the opportunity to study and maybe teach in other countries. There is so much to be learned from practices in other cultures. I am eagerly looking forward to this next chapter in my life. That is exactly what I intend to do as I take the next step in my future.
